| Christopher was a
victim of the Sheffield flood and was named as Christopher Calton. Also a
victim was Mary Calton, Christopher's wife. Mary was Christopher's second
wife. A Joseph Calton aged 6 also perished in the flood but as to his
relationship to Christopher we are not sure. Christopher's nephew,
Christopher Bradbury Arculus, also drowned in the flood. His parents were
Edward and Susan Arculus. Christopher was born circa 1817 at
Egmanton, Nottingham. Mary was born at Boston, Lincolnshire. They both
died on March 12th 1864 and are buried in the General Cemetery,
Sheffield.
A lot more research has to be done on the
Calton/Colton family and any help would be most appreciated. If anyone
